The official YouTube channel for Japanese singer-songwriter Maharajan has started streaming an anime edition music video for “Kurae! Telepathy,” the opening theme song for the winter 2023 TV anime Tomo-chan Is a Girl! The pop tune was released digitally on January 5, then its CD single was released on February 15. The lyric video for the song is packed with the memorable scenes from the anime story.

Message from Maharajan:

When I was asked to write the opening theme for an anime for the first time, I was surprised and happy, and since there are many fans of the original manga, I wanted to make a song that would be unique to me while staying close to the original sincerely. I was conscious of capturing the frustration of not being able to make progress in the relationship between friends and the breath of the characters, who are happy and energetic every day, into the song, and tried to create an emotional song with a strong scene development. In the full version, the song takes us into a world inspired by a certain thing that appears in the story. I hope this song will be adored by fans of the original manga and those who will be experiencing the story for the first time.

The TV anime adaptation of Fumita Yanagida’s four-panel romantic comedy manga Tomo-chan Is a Girl! premiered in Japan on January 5, 2023, and has also been simulcast on Crunchyroll for memebrs in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS.
