#Keisuke Makino’s Tsuki to Laika to Nosferatu Fantasy Light Novel Gets TV Anime in 2021

 

 

A TV anime adaptation of Keisuke Makino’s fantasy light novel series Tsuki to Laika to Nosferatu (Moon, Laika, and the Bloodsucking Princess) is now in the works for a premiere in 2021. The anime’s official website opens today, posting a 55-second teaser PV narrated by its protagonist Irina Luminesque played by Megumi Hayashibara (Rei Ayanami in the Evangelion series).

 

 



 

 

The novel has been published from Shogakukan’s GaGaGa Bunko imprint since December 2016, and its latest sixth volume is scheduled to be released in Japan tomorrow, March 18, 2021. Its story centers on a vampire girl who is taken for a manned flight experiment during the space race between fictional superpowers, and a young man who flunked out as an astronaut candidate for some reason, and follows their journey together into space.

 

Akitoshi Yokoyama (Cutie Honey Universe) is attached to direct, alongside character designer Hiromi Kato (Monster Girl Doctor) and art director Yuji Kato (Little Witch Academia). The novel author Keisuke Makino himself serves as series composition writer, Arvo Animation (We Never Learn: BOKUBEN) works on anime production.

 

In addition to Megumi Hayashibara as the vampire girl Irina, Kouki Uchiyama (Banagher Links in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn) will play Lev Lepus, a young astronaut candidate who trains her. Also, Mikhail Yasin and Rosa Previtskaya, who are competing with Lev for the title of the first human astronaut in history, will be voiced by Satoshi Hino (Ainz Ooal Gown in Overlord) and Mikako Komatsu (Setsuna in Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon), respectively. And Hina Kino (Yuu Matsumoto in Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me) is cast as Anya Simonyan, a researcher at the Air Force Medical Research Institute.
