An anime adaptation of the Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru light novels has been announced to be in the planning stages of production. A trailer, narrated by Saki Miyashita, was also released to commemorate the announcement as well as the fourth volume’s upcoming January 25 release.

Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru is written by Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World‘s Kei Sazane and illustrated by Toiro Kinoruru. The first volume was released on January 25, 2021. The series is published under Kadokawa’s MF Bunko J label.

The premise involves “The Game of Gods,” which was created by gods that had too much free time on their hands. It is a difficult game that no human has managed to conquer, due to the gods’ fickleness, irrationality, and occasionally hard-to-understand nature. However, when former goddess Leoreche wakes up from her long slumber, Fay, a boy who is considered to be the game’s best rookie in recent years, finds himself joining Leoreche to battle against the gods in the ultimate intellectual game.
