#Kaiju No. 8’s New Trailer Previews “Sagamihara Neutralization Operation at Daybreak Arc”

The ongoing Kaiju No.8 anime adaptation has received a new trailer previewing the night-time action of the “Sagamihara Neutralization Operation at Daybreak Arc.” 

Kaiju No.8 premiered on April 13 and is available on Crunchyroll, bilibili, and X (formerly Twitter). The anime is based on the Shueisha-published manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which debuted in 2020 on Shonen Jump+ and has 12 tankoubon volumes as of April 2024.

VIZ Media describes the manga as: 

Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.

A new manga series titled Kaiju No.8: Side B, which depicts the “front-line stories of the Defense Force not covered in the main series,” began serialization in 2024. Kaiju No.8: Side B is drawn by Kentaro Hidano and co-written by Matsumoto and Keiji Ando.
