#Juicy Couture tracksuits just made a cozy comeback

#Juicy Couture tracksuits just made a cozy comeback

It’s time to throw it back to a much more comfortable time: The early 2000s, when Juicy tracksuits ruled the streets.

In a welcome departure from 2020’s drab style hole, luxury faux fur company Apparis has partnered with Juicy Couture to release their modern take on the brand’s time-tested cozy classic.

“A 2020 twist on a 2000s staple: Apparis meets Juicy to create their first ever faux fur tracksuit. Ultra soft. Uniquely bold. Classically chic,” reads the collaboration page on Apparis’ site.

The collab between Apparis and Juicy feature the two-piece staple, including a zip-up hoodie and faux fur track pants sold separately. The suits come in the iconic Juicy pink, as well as a jet black, and are made out of vegan faux fur with Juicy accents such as an embroidered logo and black rhinestone capped draw cords.

Throwback fashions have been popping up more and more this year, with Gen Z’s “rediscovery” of yoga pants, the Kardashian’s take on the velour and a celebrity love for fuzzy bucket hats. However, the queen bee of early aughts fashion has always been the crown-wearing, bedazzled backside of Juicy Couture. Track suits were the stars of their collection, with matching velour sets on every celebrity from Paris Hilton to Britney Spears.

“With 2000s fashion making a comeback, it’s no secret that the JC tracksuit is among the top trends seeing a resurgence in the fashion world. In this collaboration, Apparis imposed their signature, ultra-soft faux fur onto JC’s iconic tracksuit silhouette, making this season’s ultimate loungewear set,” reads the press release for the collection.

The collection slips in other 2000’s references, another sweet treat for those who devoured MTV and Tiger Beat magazine throughout the decade. The track pants and zip-up hoodie are named after “The Simple Life” stars Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton, respectively. The black puffer coat is named after then-assistant to Hilton, Kim Kardashian, and the full length faux fur coat is called the Britney, (duh). For die-hard fans of everything Paris Hilton, the last item of the collection, a black pull-over hoodie, is named after her late Chihuahua, Tinkerbell.

“We were of course inspired by the early 2000s, and the icons of it such as Kim K, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Britney Spears, which is why each of the pieces are named after them! We wanted to bring back the 2000s with our own twist to it, and we felt that adding faux fur to the iconic tracksuit was the way to go,” Apparis co-founder and creative director Lauren Nouchi told The Post.

If you can believe it, Juicy Couture celebrated their 25 year anniversary this year, and in honor of their bestselling sets, released a new anniversary collection, now live on their site. For those that want to look like old-school Juicy but smell like new-age Couture, the brand also released a 2020 fragrance in their Viva La Juicy series, called Le Bubbly. The pink berries and jasmine scent can be found at Ulta as well as on the Juicy site.

Even Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon, is in on the Juicy action, modeling for another Couture collaboration, this time with underwear company Parade.

Back to the cozy collab, Apparis and Juicy launched the collection on the Apparis site, and the track pants, hoodies, and coats start at $155 and range from an XXS to an XL in most styles.

The first part of the two-piece set is the iconic hoodie, sold in Juicy pink. The lightweight zip-up is made of Apparis’ famously soft faux fur and features the Apparis X Juicy logo embroidered on the chest, as well as the front zipper pull.

For a complete look, the Nicole track pant comes in a matching Juicy pink, or for a separate mix-and-match style, go with the noir black. The track pants have the embroidered Apparis X Juicy logo on leg, two roomy pockets, and an elastic waistband for ultimate comfort.

The pants come in sizes ranging from XS to XL and can be paired with the Paris zip-up or the Tinkerbell pullover hoodie for the track-suit style set.

If Juicy pink isn’t your style, but you still want the matching track suit of your 2000s dreams, the Tinkerbell pullover pairs perfectly with the black Nicole pants for a matching set.

The Tinkerbell comes only in the noir black color, but features the same black rhinestone capped draw cords and embroidered Apparis x Juicy logo on the chest. The jacket also has a zipper pouch pocket, so your lipgloss and flip phone don’t fall out on the go.

Kim K now has her own line of velour track suits, but nothing like this nod to the 2000s. The Kim puffer coat comes in the jet black noir color, a perfect match for the Nicole pants. The coat is made of faux shearling and faux fur, keeping you nice and warm (and cruelty-free) throughout the winter.

The jacket comes as small as an XXS and ranges up to an XL. “Oversized fit: It’s a look—bold and edgy, comfy-chic. These styles have plenty of room for tees, sweaters, whatever, so layer away. If you’re petite or want a closer fit, size down,” suggests the product page.

Britney is back and better than ever.

Chanel the songstress with this Juicy pink coat, hitting just above the knee and made of faux fur and the brand’s iconic Pluche fabric. The inside features an exclusive black Apparis x Juicy Couture lining, while the outside has notch collar to keep your neck warm and your outfit fashionable.

The jacket comes only in the Juicy pink color, and sizes range from XXS to XL.
