“#Johnny Knoxville Says More Jackass Movies Could Be Made with New Cast”
“I don’t know, we could do another Jackass,” Knoxville recently told Extra. “We have a young cast. We have a ton of ideas we didn’t even get to. But if there was another one, I would probably step back and sit next to Jeff, more times than not, behind the camera. But we could do another one, yeah.”
Knoxville may not be doing any more of the more dangerous stunts, but he’s not opposed to showing up in potential future Jackass movies, albeit in a limited capacity. He said how he’s sure the others would get him involved somehow, perhaps to be at the brunt of a prank. Always a jokester at heart, chances are Knoxville will be taking part in crafting some of the stunts and pranks pulled off on the cast members as well.
Jackass Forever features returning stars Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Wee Man, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Danger Ehren, and Preston Lacy. Original Jackass member Bam Margera also briefly appears despite being fired from the sequel. New cast members will be partaking in some stunts including Sean McInerney, Jasper Dolphin, Zach Holmes, Rachel Wolfson, Eric Manaka, and Compson “Darkshark” Wilson.
Johnny Knoxville Was Seriously Harmed Filming Jackass Forever
“I was trying to do a magic trick in a bull ring. I wanted to prank an animal, and that’s what we came up with,” Knoxville said of the stunt that changed his life, per Variety. While filming a scene with the bull, Knoxville was smashed into so hard that he was hospitalized with severe injuries that took months of recovery. The damage to his brain had him realizing that risking his life for these movies wasn’t worth it anymore for the sake of his family who cares about him.
“I get in, and they’re asking me questions,” Knoxville says of after he was hurt. “They asked me who’s the president (in December 2020) and I couldn’t come up with it. I said Obama. Maybe because that’s who I was wishing for. ‘Please, please, Obama!’ They’re like, ‘Nooooo!’ I got a broken wrist, broken rib, concussion and brain hemorrhage.”
He added, “My family doesn’t like me doing this type of thing. This is the most wicked bull hit I’ve ever taken… I’ve done enough. I don’t have anything to prove. I have kids to raise. That’s the most important thing.”
Jackass Forever is set to be released in theaters on Feb. 4, 2022.
