Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train earned 169 million yen (1.6 million USD) on 105,000 admissions in its 16th weekend, falling to second place in the weekend box office for the second time. The No.1 film of the weekend of January 30-31 was a live-action original romance drama Hanataba mitai na Koi wo Shita (We fell in love like a bouquet of flowers) starring Masaki Suda and Kasumi Arimura. No new anime films were released this weekend.

The last time the film lost its first place was its 13th weekend, when Gintama THE FINAL was released in Japan.
