#Is MrBeast moving to Kick after new Twitch guidelines?

Twitch is home to some of the world’s most popular streamers and content creators. The platform received backlash hours after announcing new guidelines that would negatively impact the streamers. Many Twitch streamers and content creators reacted, saying that the guidelines are totally unfair. One of the most notable figures who shared their disappointment at the news is MrBeast. In a series of tweets, MrBeast expressed his frustration at the new Twitch guidelines and dropped hints of him possibly streaming on Kick.

MrBeast’s thoughts on the new Twitch guidelines

Twitch announced the new guidelines on June 6, stating they will take effect starting July 1. Of course, it’s normal for companies like Twitch to update their guidelines every now and then. However, many content creators were surprised to learn that some of the clauses in the new Twitch guidelines would not favor them at all.

Sponsored streams would have to follow these strict guidelines, and many creators feel that what Twitch is doing is too much. Here are some of the highlights of the changes:

  • On-stream logos should not exceed 3% of the stream’s screen size.
  • Streamers cannot insert advertisements directly into their streams.
  • Streamers should also be transparent with their audience and disclose when a stream contains branded content. Failure to comply may result in the suspension of their accounts.

Following this, many streamers did not hold back from letting Twitch know how they felt about the guidelines. One of the world’s most famous content creators, MrBeast, shared his thoughts on the issue.

MrBeast shared his disappointment in a series of tweets, starting with calling out Twitch for being greedy when it comes to their creators. Since posting, MrBeast’s initial tweet about the issue garnered over 13.4 million views. The replies to his tweet applaud him for standing up, with most of the community agreeing that Twitch’s guidelines are unfair to creators who work tirelessly.

Is MrBeast moving to Kick?

MrBeast did not hold back when he voiced his opinions on the new guidelines from Twitch. In reply to Jake Lucky, the philanthropist agreed that creators have every right to be dissatisfied with what Twitch wants to happen on their platform.

However, the highlight was the short interactions between MrBeast himself and Twitch’s up-and-coming rival, Kick. The Twitter account for KickStreamsLIVE revealed that MrBeast has just followed them, suggesting that “it’s time for Kick to Takeover.

MrBeast wasted no time replying to the account, implying that he is considering streaming on Kick to protest Twitch’s unfair policies. Nothing is confirmed now, but one thing is for sure: creators are not happy with how things are going with Twitch. If a big creator such as MrBeast sees problems in the guidelines you are introducing, maybe it’s time for your company to take a step back and reassess whether you still want to go through with it.

At this point, Twitch is forcing creators to stop using their services. If they continue going down this road, it won’t be long until we see our favorite streamers and content creators making the switch to Kick.

This is the perfect time for Kick to swoop in

When the whole Twitch guidelines fiasco went down, Kick wasted no time in letting themselves be heard and seen by the community. Quoting MrBeast’s tweet calling out Twitch, they took this opportunity to show how they prioritize their creators over themselves.

One of the boldest moves they have made so far is offering to cover the $25 fee streamers must pay Twitch if they want to break their contract with the platform.

Since facing backlash from their new guidelines, Twitch has apologized and acknowledged that it caused confusion for their streamers. According to their statement, they will update the guidelines as the first ones they released were unclear and “missed the mark with the policy language.”

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the latest news once the updated guidelines and rules from Twitch come out.
