Amazing footage has captured servicemen from the Royal Navy’s flying over the New York Harbor and landing on the flagship aircraft carrier.

The video — captured on Oct. 1 –– shows the ‘Iron Men’ flying onto HMS Queen Elizabeth waving a flag with a Union Jack on it.

In the incredible scene, the servicemen fly over the Atlantic in the suits — which can reach speeds of more than 85 mph and stay airborne for over 10 minutes — before landing, much to the delight of amazed onlookers.

The jetpacks were made using innovative technology from Gravity Industries and the Royal Navy has been testing out the Jet Suit for assault teams for about two years.

According to Gravity Industries, the jetpacks utilize more than 1000 bhp of Jet Engine power to give people an “intense and enthralling spectacle,” adding it’s “often likened to the real life Ironman.”

The Jetpacks are made by British ex-Marine inventor Richard Browning, who said, “The team and I are delivering on the vision to build Gravity into a world-class aeronautical engineering business, challenge perceived boundaries in human aviation, and inspire a generation to dare ask ‘what if.’”

HMS Queen Elizabeth has arrived in New York at the end of September ahead of its deployment to the United States to host the Atlantic Future Forum (AFF),  a defense conference about the Anglo-American military, political and strategic relations between the two nations.

The two-day conference was held on the flagship carrier, and it is the first time it has been back to New York in four years.

Dame Karen Pierce, the UK’s Ambassador to the United States, said the HMS Queen Elizabeth is a “fantastic” demonstration of the “close working relationship” between the UK and the US.

“The welcome which has been offered to the UK’s flagship by our American hosts is testament to the strength and currency of the relationship between our two nations,” AFF director Stephen Watson said.
