The Insomniacs After School anime adaptation has received a new trailer and key visual, with the former previewing yet more scenes of its titular insomniacs. An April 10 Japanese premiere date (effectively April 11 at 12 AM JST) was also revealed.

Additionally, aiko was revealed to be the artist for the anime’s opening theme, “Itsu Aetara.”

Insomniacs After School is based on the Shogakukan-published manga series by Makoto Ojiro, which began in 2019 and has 11 tankoubon volumes as of January 2023. The story follows insomniac high schoolers Ganta and Isaki, who meet after classes at an observatory-turned-storage room, beginning a strange relationship of brief sleep and shared secrets. The manga is published under Big Comics label and serialized in the Big Comic Spirits magazine.

The anime is directed by Yuuki Ikeda (Arad: Reversal of Fate chief episode director) with Rintarou Ikeda (Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It r=1-sinθ) as series composer and scriptwriter, Yuuki Fukuda (Mieruko-chan ghost character designer) as character designer, and Yuuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia) as music composer. LIDENFILMS is the animation production company.

Other staff include Tatsurou Oonishi (Zombieland Saga Revenge) as art director, Emiko Onodera (Magical Sempai) as color designer, and Megumi Himeno (The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter assistant compositing director) as compositing director.
