#Sci-Fi Revival NIGHT HEAD 2041 Plans Manga, Book, and Stage Adaptations

George Iida’s 1990s cult classic sci-fi series NIGHT HEAD will be coming back this summer as NIGHT HEAD 2041. But that’s not all… Iida’s remake of his TV show will be getting adaptations in other media, too!

It was announced today that YANMAGA Web, the online edition of Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine, will be running a web manga adaptation of the series. Up-and-coming manga artist Kei Ogawa will be in charge of the comicalization. Check out a preview of the art, featuring the starring Kirihara brothers and the anime-exclusive Kuroki brothers.

The NIGHT HEAD 2041 project isn’t stopping there, though. A novel adaptation, penned by Iida himself, is also in the works. And there are plans underway for a stage show, too.

NIGHT HEAD 2041 is a paranormal series that subscribes to the concept that 70% of the human brain goes unused (hence the “night head” referred to in the title), and that this is where supernatural abilities reside. The series stars Naoto and Naoya Kirihara, a pair of brothers who have harnessed a variety of supernatural powers; and the new Kuroki brothers, who work for the National Guard Unit hunting down psychics.

NIGHT HEAD 2041 premieres this July in Fuji TV’s +Ultra programming block. The manga adaptation kicks off online on April 28.
