“Inio Asano Launches Mujina in to the Deep Assassin Manga Series”

Inio Asano’s newest manga series Mujina in to the Deep has debuted in the seventh issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine on March 10, 2023. The manga also appeared on Big Comic Superior’s front cover and included a color opening page. 

Prior to the manga’s launch, Asano also posted some promotional art for his latest series on his Twitter

Mujina in to the Deep follows a young assassin girl who lives in a busy metropolitan city named Tsukumo. As she enjoys a casual life, she hunts down her targets with a katana.

Asano’s last manga series, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededededestruction, ran in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine from April 28 2014 to February 28, 2022. Viz Media released the manga in English and has published many of Asano’s previous works, including Solanin, Goodnight Punpun, What a wonderful world!, Downfall, and the Goodnight Punpun series. Both Solanin and A Girl on the Shore inspired live-action film adaptations. 

Fantagraphics Books released Asano’s horror manga Nijigahara Holograph in 2014, while Vertical Comics published A Girl on the Shore in English in 2016.
