A man died following a hit-and-run crash in the Bronx early Saturday, police said.
The NYPD said the victim, believed to be in his 60s or 70s, was struck in front of the Kaesar Gourmet Deli at 3919 Baychester Ave. around 1:45 a.m and taken to Jacobi Medical Center with severe leg injuries.
He died an hour later, an NYPD spokesman said.
Investigators are still trying to figure out the exact circumstances surrounding the deadly crash and offered no information on the vehicle that struck the man.
“There was a language barrier,” the NYPD spokesman said.
A man who answered the phone at the Kaesar Deli Saturday morning declined to comment on the crash.
