#Illustrator loundraw’s Summer Ghost Short Film To Release in 2021

Summer Ghost, a new short film directed by illustrator loundraw, will release sometime in 2021. The film will mark the 28-year-old’s debut as a film director. 

A key visual featuring the characters Tomoyo Sugisaki, Aoi Harukawa, and Ryo Kobayashi was also released. In addition, a collaboration commercial between Summer Ghost and educational group Z-Kai Group titled Ichiban Chikakute Tooi Hoshi was uploaded on YouTube.

Flat Studio, the animation studio founded by loundraw in 2019, is in charge of the animation production for Summer Ghost. The studio has previously produced several shorts including Ichiban Chikakute Tooi Hoshi.

Summer Ghost is described as a story of boys and girls who experience some strange days one summer. The movie is a part of loundraw’s multimedia project Project Common.

Meanwhile Ichiban Chikakute Tooi Hoshi is described as another story set in the Summer Ghost universe. The short centers on high school student Kaori (Nao Touyama), who was smitten by the starry sky during an extracurricular trip to an observatory as an elementary school student. loundraw served as technical director, character designer, animation director, art director, photography director, editor, and producer for the short.

Prior to founding Flat Studio, loundraw was an illustrator who debuted in 2013 by contributing to the cover of the novel Hoshi no Nemuru Mizuumi e -Ai wo Sagashi Ni-. He later contributed to works like I Want To Eat Your Pancreas and Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikari Kagayaku. 

loundraw also provided the character designs for the Tsuki ga Kirei anime series and the concept designs for the Josee, the Tiger and the Fish anime movie. In 2017, loundraw released his graduation project, an animated short titled Before you wake up, which featured the voices of Sora Amamiya and Hiro Shimono.
