#HIDIVE to Stream OSHI NO KO Season 2 in Summer 2024

HIDIVE has announced that the highly anticipated second season of【OSHI NO KO】will simulcast exclusively on the anime streaming service in the U.S. and Canada, as well as its overseas markets including the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. 

Season two will premiere in July 2024 as part of HIDIVE’s Summer 2024 simulcast season.

The returning staff for the second season includes Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project, Asteroid in Love) as director, Chao Nekotomi (Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie opening director and storyboarder, Selection Project Episode 7 dance part director and storyboarder et al.) as assistant director, Jin Tanaka (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, Laid-Back Camp) as series screenwriter, and Kanna Hirayama (Selection Project, Rent-A-Girlfriend) as character designer. Doga Kobo is in charge of the animation production. 

Season one ran from April 12, 2023 to June June 28, 2023 for 11 episodes, including an extended 90-minute premiere. HIDIVE, Bilibili, Netflix, and iQIYI were among the platforms that streamed the show outside Japan.

The anime is an adaptation of the manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, which began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump on April 23, 2020 and has 13 tankobon volumes as of July 2023. A 14th volume is due out on April 18, 2024.  

HIDIVE describes the synopsis of【OSHI NO KO】as: 

When a pregnant young starlet appears in Gorou Amemiya’s countryside medical clinic, the doctor takes it upon himself to safely (and secretly) deliver Ai Hoshino’s child so she can make a scandal-free return to the stage. But no good deed goes unpunished, and on the eve of her delivery, he finds himself slain at the hands of Ai’s deluded stalker — and subsequently reborn as Ai’s child, Aquamarine Hoshino! The glitz and glamor of showbiz hide the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry, threatening to dull the shine of his favorite star. Can he help his new mother rise to the top of the charts? And what will he do when an unthinkable disaster strikes?
