#Helicopter makes unauthorized landing in NYC lot, flies two passengers to NJ

A helicopter made an unauthorized landing in a vacant Brooklyn lot on Thursday before picking up two passengers for a flight to New Jersey, police and sources said.

The NYPD caught wind of the spectacle — and one of the department’s choppers tailed the rogue pilot to Lakewood Township Municipal Airport, police and the sources said.

The surprise landing came at about 12:30 p.m. in a lot near Troy Avenue and Carroll Street in Crown Heights, police said.

At least one neighborhood witness called 911 to report the low-flying copter, sources said.

Once in New Jersey, the pilot told police that he had permission from the lot owner to land on the property, according to sources.

The incident was reported to the Federal Aviation Administration, sources said.

The federal agency did not immediately return a request for comment.
