“#Gunma Prefecture Plans Gunma-chan Anime’s Worldwide Streaming”

Gunma Prefecture confirmed at the Prefectural Assembly Standing Committee on General Affairs and Planning on March 11 that it has been negotiating with broadcasters for the start of TV broadcasting in October 2021 for the anime series featuring its mascot character Gunma-chan.

The plan is to produce 39 seven-minute episodes and broadcast them a total of 13 times in the “Sazae-san” format, three episodes each time. Further details including broadcast media, content, and voice cast have not yet been disclosed.

It is also confirmed that the anime is planned to be distributed on the internet worldwide with English, French, and Chinese subtitles after its TV premiere in Japan.

The anime project was announced by Aya Uchida (Kotori Minami in Love Live!) and Yui Ogura (Kokona Aoba in Encouragement of Climb) in an announcement PV posted in January 2021. So the two are expected to voice the main characters in the anime. Also, it has been confirmed that Ascension (Duel Masters) works in anime production.
