#Gundam Breaker Battlogue Project To Include Short Anime

The newly announced Gundam Breaker Battlogue Project, which kicks off in the summer, will include a short anime directed by Gundam Build FightersBattlogue‘s Masami Obari.

The Gundam Breaker Battlogue short anime will consist of six episodes that will be released on Gundam Channel in Japan and on Gundam.info internationally in the fall season. It will show off the project’s original units in action.

Additionally, the characters from smartphone game Gundam Battle: GUNPLA Warfare and the PlayStation4 and PlayStation Vita game Gundam Breaker 3 will appear in the anime. There will also be a story mission in Gundam Battle: GUNPLA Warfare that will serve as a prequel to the short anime, and the anime itself can be watched via the game.

Hajime Yatate and Yoshiyuki Tomino are credited with the original story for the anime, while Kunio Ōkawara, Kanetake Ebikawa, Kotaro Ando (Studio GS), Kyoryu Kuramochi, Kyoshi Takigawa, and Naohiro Washio are credited with the mecha designs. Sunrise is in charge of the animation production.

Aside from the anime, which is meant to strengthen the link between the Gundam Breaker video games and the Gunpla model line, the Gundam Breaker Battlogue Project will see newly designed Gundam mobile suits released for both the games and the Gunpla line. There are also plans for new units “with a renewed design and units whose original coloring has been changed, made by combining the GUNPLA of the units that appeared in past Gundam series.”

“All models in the HG Gundam Breaker Battlogue Series of GUNPLA that will go on sale as part of this project will be structurally redesigned and include joint parts that allow for various combinations of the head, torso, arms, and legs parts, so that users can enjoy customizing their one-of-a-kind GUNPLA just like they would do in the game,” said a GundamInfo article.

“Moreover, we plan on releasing limited edition GUNPLA for exclusive sale abroad, mainly in the United States. We will also gradually release figures in North America, in addition to GUNPLA.”

The article added that it was currently undecided if the products made for the overseas market will be sold in Japan as well.
