#GOPers slam Biden, Twitter for suppressing Hunter laptop story

“GOPers slam Biden, Twitter for suppressing Hunter laptop story”

Republicans ripped into Twitter on Friday night for what they called the company’s “collusion” with members of the Biden administration after the social media giant’s shady decision to censor The Post’s Hunter Biden scoop.

House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy, Sens. Rand Paul and Josh Hawley, and the House Republican’s official Twitter account all called the company after Elon Musk shared the so-called “Twitter Files” — detailing the company’s faulty rationale to block the Post’s Oct. 14, 2020 expose.

“We’re learning in real-time how Twitter colluded to silence the truth about Hunter Biden’s laptop just days before the 2020 presidential election,” tweeted McCarthy.

In the same tweet, McCarthy vowed that when House Republicans officially take majority control of the lower chamber they “will get answers for the American people and the accountability they deserve.”

“This is what collusion looks like,” read a tweet from the House Republicans’ Twitter account. Their tweet was in reference to revelations that “the Biden team” asked the company on Oct. 24, 2020 to delete a series after the Post published the Hunter Biden story. It was unclear what the since-deleted tweets said.

“Here we have it – Dem lawmakers pressing Twitter for MORE censorship to advance their political agenda, First Amendment be damned,” Josh Hawley wrote.

Caitlyn Jenner unleashed a series of tweets condemning the Biden administration and Twitter for suppressing The Post’s 2020 story on Hunter Biden’s laptop.

The social media company had flagged tweets sharing the story as “unsafe” and originally censored the scoop after some top-level execs decided to label the story as “hacked material” without any evidence.

Sen. Josh Hawley tweeted Friday: “Here we have it – Dem lawmakers pressing @Twitter for MORE censorship to advance their political agenda, First Amendment be damned. They’re still at it. This is why Dems love monopoly power.”

And Sen. Rand Paul urged everyone to read the damning details released on Twitter Friday night by independent journalist Matt Taibbi.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene shared a video of then-President Donald Trump calling Joe Biden a “criminal” for the revelations revealed by his son’s 2020 laptop and said the media is complicit for not reporting on Biden’s corruption.

“We know it was and we knew all along. And so did they, which is why they broke laws to hide it all. But now the laptop is in our possession. They are criminals. Trump was right all along and will be vindicated,” the Georgia politician said.

Greene called “Twittergate” an early Christmas present and called for House Republicans to investigate potential election interference in the 2020 race, alleging that the information impression extended into other social platforms and media outlets beyond Twitter.

Caitlyn Jenner even joined the leagues of Republican leaders to condemn Twitter Friday night.

“Big tech monopolies violating constitutional rights, being weaponized against conservatives, and acting as a shield for the Biden family, truly changed the election result in favor of Biden. Insane! We demand accountability to these corrupt actors! Indict them!” the former California gubernatorial candidate said in a series of tweets condemning the scheme.

Jenner, who has consistently come out in support of Donald Trump, quipped that President Biden’s team resorted to “treason” to win the 2020 election.

She also tweeted hopes that Elon Musk, who collaborated with independent journalist Matt Taibbi to release the “Twitter Files,” was surrounded by massive security because he “became public enemy number one to some very very bad people.”

Trump’s press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, hopped on Twitter the day after giving birth to her second child to claim vindication.

“I get to explain to my daughter who @elonmusk is & how he has fought for free speech for me and millions of others. #TwitterFiles,” McEnany wrote, referencing an October 2020 tweet of her and her baby deleting a tweet together.

At the time, McEnany had been locked out of her account in the weeks before the election.

“One day I will explain to her what censorship is and why she had to unjustly delete Mommy’s tweet in order to speak!” McEnany wrote then.

According to Musk, “episode two” of the Twitter Files will be released Saturday.
