“#Gintama Creator Reveals Self-Portrait for THE FINAL Theatrical Gift”
After being super secretive over the second third-week theatrical gift give out to attendees of Gintama: THE FINAL, the official Twitter account for the anime film revealed that the paired drawing was actually a self-portrait of Gintama creator Hideaki Sorachi. Alongside the ape-like image, a video was released of Sorachi recording his lines for the film.

The Hideaki Sorachi (gorilla) drawing is currently being given out alongside a drawing of Gintoki and Shinsuke in the third week of screenings for Gintama: THE FINAL randomly to attendees. The images, both drawn by Sorachi, will also be given out in the seventh week of screenings for the anime film.
Gintama: THE FINAL opened in Japanese cinemas on January 8 and has so far made over 800 million yen (US$7.7 million) at the box office.
