#Giants’ Mike Glennon out of concussion protocol, set to start

TUCSON, Ariz. — Mike Glennon was cleared out of concussion protocol on Friday after an evaluation by an independent neurologist and the career NFL backup is set to start a second straight game when the Giants face the Chargers in Los Angeles.

“At this moment, if he’s cleared and he’s at the game, Mike will start,’’ Judge said after practice at the University of Arizona.

Daniel Jones participated in practice all week but he was ruled out as he continues to deal with the neck strain that he sustained two weeks ago against the Eagles.

Glennon was limited for the first two practices here and was a full participant on Friday.  Judge said Glennon’s time off the field this week was “minimal,’’ as far as missing valuable reps. Glennon made his first Giants’ start last week and completed 23 of 44 passes for 187 yards and one interception in a 20-9 loss to the Dolphins in Miami.

Jake Fromm, signed 10 days ago off the Bills’ practice squad, will be the backup quarterback.
