Aroldis Chapman and Gary Sanchez were both on the field for Sunday’s workout at Yankee Stadium after missing Saturday’s first day of spring training 2.0 while they waited for their coronavirus intake test results.
Aaron Boone said Saturday the duo’s absence wasn’t “good or bad” but rather a matter of timing.
The Yankees are without DJ LeMahieu and Luis Cessa, who both tested positive for COVID-19 and are self-isolating outside New York.
LeMahieu has been asymptomatic, while Cessa has experienced “very mild symptoms.”
Boone said he was “hopeful” the two would only be out a short time.
