Four Rhythm Across the Blue Unveils 10th Anniversary Visual for GONZO’s Commemorative Event

A new 10th anniversary visual has been unveiled for the AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue TV anime series, which aired for 12 episodes from January 12, 2016 to March 29, 2016. The new visual features several of the anime’s main characters and was released in commemoration of an event hosted by GONZO (who handled the animation production for the series).

AOKANA will be celebrated at the fifth edition of the GONZO BACCA event, with the 10th anniversary celebration event being titled “AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue – 10-shunen karaga, Hontou no Shoubu.” It will be held at the TOKYO TOWER RED” AREANA at the Tokyo Tower on June 28, 2025, with information on ticketing and other details available on the event’s official website.
Keiya Nakano, who worked on the TV anime as the character designer and chief animation director, drew the new key visual for the 10th anniversary celebration.
Several staff who worked on the anime series and some of its voice cast will also make guest appearances at the event, including director Fumitoshi Oizaki, Misato Fukuen (who voiced the heroine Asuka Kurashina), and Nozomi Yamamoto (who voiced Mashiro Arisaka). Additionally, the event will also include the announcement of the fan-voted “Flying Circus Best Bout Ranking” and a live commentary of the final episode.
The anime is based on Sprite’s romance visual novel, which was first released in Japan on Windows PC on November 28, 2014. It was later ported to the Playstation Vita, Playstation 4, and Nintendo Switch between 2016 to 2018. An English version by NekoNyan was released on Steam on September 27, 2019 and on the Nintendo Switch on August 21, 2020.

The original visual novel also inspired a smartphone game in 2016 and two fandiscs, as well as a manga adaptation of the TV series in December 2015. A new game titled Aokana – Four Rhythms Across the Blue: If 01 – Minamo Shirase was announced to be in development in October 2021.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue and describes the main synopsis as:
The invention of Grav-Shoes, footwear that function as antigravity devices, drastically changes the world, as they give people the ability to freely soar the skies. Asuka Kurashina transfers into Kunahama High school, where she meets Masaya Hinata and Misaki Tobisawa, finds out about the aerial sport that’s rapidly gaining popularity—Flying Circus—and immediately joins the school’s FC Club. She and her teammates sometimes clash, but they also support one another in the pursuit of their respective goals as they take on formidable rivals and look to triumph in the summer FC tournament.
