Earl performed album single “2010” for the crowd in attendance, which also signifies the year he released his debut Earl mixtape prior to being sent to boarding school in Samoa by his mother.
The former Odd Future member takes the stage and ruminates about having his mother worried during the wee hours of the night about his mischievous activities. For the backdrop, an animated character pops pills, sips lean and deals with the effects of his drug use on his brain and body.

While Monday marked Earl Sweatshirt’s Tonight Show debut, he previously appeared on Fallon’s Late Night for a “Burgundy” performance with the Roots in 2013.
SICK! serves as Earl’s fourth studio album and features assists from Zelooperz, Armand Hammer, the Alchemist, Black Noi$e, and more. The 10-track project was crafted at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic’s lockdown circa March 2020.
“Before the virus I had been working on an album I named after a book I used to read with my mother (The People Could Fly),” he said regarding the project. “Once the lockdowns hit, people couldn’t fly anymore. A wise man said art imitates life. People were sick. The People were angry and isolated and restless.
“I leaned into the chaos cause it was apparent that it wasn’t going anywhere. these songs are what happened when I would come up for air.”
