#Driver arrested after fatally striking 62-year-old woman in Brooklyn

The driver of a sedan was arrested after fatally striking a 62-year-old woman crossing a Brooklyn street on Sunday night, police said.

The victim, identified by police as Alina Morales, was struck by the driver of a Hyundai Sonata on Atlantic Avenue near Nevins Street in Boerum Hill at about 7:45 p.m., cops said.

EMS responded and took Morales to Brooklyn Hospital Center, where she was declared dead, authorities said.

The car driver, a 49-year-old man, remained on scene. But he was arrested later Sunday night, and police said charges against him are pending.
