#Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Anime Film is Coming to North America This Summer

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

A Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Super Stage panel was held during this weekend’s Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2022 event, and guests talking about the new movie included director Tetsuro Kodama, Toei Animation producer Norihiro Hayashida, and executive producer Akio Iyoku of Shueisha. Along with host Sascha, the group revealed more details about the upcoming feature, including plans to release it in North America this summer

The guests started by showing off the previously revealed visual and teasing that Toriyama said we’ll be seeing a lot of characters we might not expect. They then expanded the visual to show an entire second half, including Trunks and Goten in mid-Fusion, and showed some fresh footage featuring Dr. Hedo (Miyu Irino) and an explosive incident. The second clip featured Piccolo and new android enemy Gamma 2 (Mamoru Miyano), who pulled off some cool gunslinging action, and the third had a very cool but brief Gohan showdown with Gamma 1 (Hiroshi Kamiya) in the pouring rain.

An expanded and advanced Red Ribbon Army will be back in a major way as the key adversary for this one, so look forward to that classic Dragon Ball aspect to be present throughout.

“Smoothness” was mentioned as the key word for the movie thanks to the new CG-animated style, making it unlike anything seen in the Dragon Ball series. The producers and director said they can pull off an even greater sense of speed and power with this one.

Finally, they announced ticket presale for Japan along with special clear file bonuses, and confirmed that Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is coming to North America this summer.
