#Dove Shack Rapper C-Knight Dead At 52 After Life-Support Switched Off
TMZ revealed the sad news in a report on Tuesday (November 7), which was later confirmed in a post by C-Knight’s Dove Shack groupmate Bo Roc.
As previously reported, the rapper (real name Arnez Blount) was hospitalized on October 18 due to complications from diabetes. While receiving treatment, he reportedly suffered a stroke that stopped his heart. He was subsequently resuscitated and placed on life support.
C-Knight’s father previously told TMZ their family was optimistically waiting on the results of a crucial MRI to hopefully see any notable brain activity, but it appears things took a turn for the worse.
Taking to Instagram following news of C-Knight’s death, Bo Roc wrote: “This is like [a] fucking nightmare I swear this shit hurt different and I don’t want to talk about shit to nobody so please just let me be and pray for us… On my soul I love you bro and I already don’t know what the fuck to do wit u being gone.”

Dove Shack made their debut on Warren G‘s 1994 album Regulate… G Funk Era. The following year, the group had their biggest hit, “Summertime in the LBC.” The track, which appeared both on their debut album This Is the Shack album and the soundtrack to The Show, made it to No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of November 4, 1995.
The group reunited for a project in 2006. C-Knight has one solo album, 2001’s Knight Time.
The group also helped Snoop Dogg get his start. In a 2022 interview with The 85 South Comedy Show, the West Coast legend explained that during the early days of his career he would borrow a typewriter from 2Scoops of The Dove Shack.
“Them the little homies,” Snoop said of the trio. “2Scoops that was in the group, when I first started writing raps I used to use that n-gga typewriter… I was writing on paper cuz and I would lose my shit and this n-gga typewriter was organized. This n-gga had paper organized and shit so I was like, ‘I’m just gonna type my shit up’ and I used to type like 65 words a minute, n-gga.”
He continued: “It was a skill I took up at a little white junior high school I went to. They gave a n-gga typing classes and I took it. I was one of them students that I took a wood class, a metal class, I took typing, I took home economics. I took classes that was like different.”
