#Disney+ To Get Black Rock Shooter, Summer Time Rendering, Other Anime

Disney+ is set to become the home of several upcoming anime, including Black Rock Shooter Dawn Fall, Summer Time Rendering, The Tatami Galaxy sequel Yojohan Time Machine Blues, and an adaptation of the Twisted Wonderland mobile game.

As reported by Deadline, the titles are part of the streaming platform’s recently revealed slate of over 20 Asia-Pacific content, which include live-action fare from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, and more. They will be released sometime in 2022, with availability depending on country. Over 50 APAC Originals are planned to be greenlit by 2023.

Announced in September, Black Rock Shooter Dawn Fall is the first anime to feature illustrator huke’s Black Rock Shooter character since 2012. A Spring 2022 Japanese premiere was announced earlier in October. Meanwhile, Summer Time Rendering is an adaptation of the thriller manga by Yasuki Tanaka. It is set to release in 2022 in Japan.

Yojohan Time Machine Blues was announced in August with Shingo Natsume as director. Science SARU, which produced The Tatami Galaxy anime and its spiritual successor Night Is Short, Walk On Girl, is also producing Yojohan Time Machine Blues. 

Finally, Twisted Wonderland is described as a “Japanese battle rhythm game.” Created by Disney and Aniplex, it features Yana Toboso-designed characters who are inspired by Disney villains.

The APAC territories that Disney+ is currently available in include Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan. It will launch in South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong in November.
