Social media sleuths believe they have cracked the case over the rumored romance between tennis stars Stan Wawrinka and Garbiñe Muguruza.
In June, Switzerland’s Wawrinka posted a photo of himself on the court with the Venezuelan-born athlete, captioning the Instagram shot, “Hot and humid with Mugu.” Though both have shared solo shots since that initial image, Muguruza’s post on Sunday sent Twitter into overdrive.
“Little moments like this ? #sundayvibes #domingosalsol,” a bikini-clad Muguruza, 26, posted, geotagging Wawrinka’s native country.
On Sunday, a user named Peetah Pan tweeted side-by-side photos of Muguruza’s swimsuit snap and a photo Wawrinka, 35, had posted in April, noting the similarities of the locale.
Naturally, the Twittersphere had some thoughts on the prospective couple.
“So Muguruza and Wawrinka are a couple now?” one user pondered.
“Garbi Muguruza and Stan Wawrinka: the couple I didn’t know I needed,” another stated.
As of Wednesday, both Wawrinka and Muguruza follow one another on Instagram. He was previously linked to fellow tennis starlet Donna Vekic.
