#Demon Lord, Retry! R Anime Coming in 2024, Visual Released

The Demon Lord, Retry! R anime adaptation will begin airing sometime this year. A visual has been released, and there are also staff and cast announcements.

The series’ director is Kazuomi Koga (Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible, Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 1 and 2), whose other upcoming shows include My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me! and April’s The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases. Gekkou is producing the show, and other staff include Katsuhiko Takayama (The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash) as series composer and Minori Homura (Isekai no Yu) as character designer.

The cast includes Kenjiro Tsuda as Hakuto Kunai, Momo Asakura as Aku, and Azumi Waki as Akane Fujisaki. Tsuda is reprising his role from 2019’s Demon Lord, Retry! while Asakura is replacing Kanon Takao.

Demon Lord, Retry! R is a sequel to the manga adaptation of the Demon Lord, Retry! isekai fantasy light novels. Demon Lord, Retry! started in 2016 as a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel written by Kurone Kanzaki. The light novels, published under Futabasha’s Monster Bunko label and illustrated by Koji Ogata, began in June 2017 and has nine volumes as of September 2023.

The manga adaptation by Amaru Minotake began serialization in Web Comic Action in October 2017 and is currently serialized in Gaugau Monster. The pre-R content is collected into five tankoubon volumes, with the last being released in December 2019.

With the addition of a new advisor—the (seemingly) hopeless optimist Akane—the Demon Lord’s army grows even more colorful, and their hijinks even wackier.
