#Darkness Heels Animation Project Announced

Tsuburaya has announced a new Ultraman animated work that is part of the Darkness Heels project, which was launched in 2018.

Ultraman: Darkness Heels will star the “dark heroes” of the Ultraman franchise instead of its titular character. The project’s first event, DARKNESS HEELS WORLD, was held in October 2018.

Tsuburaya describes Darkness Heels as:

Besides monsters and aliens, the dark heroes with unique characteristics are also an important part of the Ultraman series. 

Project “DARKNESS HEELS” puts the spotlight on the dark heroes under the theme of “whispers and temptations from the dark”. Please stay tuned as the popular dark heroes “Ultraman Belial” “Dark Zagi” ”Evil Tiga” ”Camearra” and “Jugglus Juggler”  come together in the new dark world.

Ultraman: Darkness Heels will be the latest Ultraman animation after the 2019-2023 Ultraman series, an adaptation of the 2011 Ultraman manga written by Eiichi Shimizu and drawn by Tomohiro Shimoguchi, and the upcoming Ultraman Rising movie. Ultraman and Ultraman Rising are both CG animations that are/will be streamed on Netflix. The Ultraman tokusatsu franchise made its debut in 1966 with the Ultra Q television series.
