With a grim past and even grimmer grades, first-year Ai Kamiyo will be taken under protagonist Keitaro’s wing as a tutoring student in the upcoming TV anime adaptation of supernatural horror manga Dark Gathering. Her character design was revealed today, along with the casting of Rina Kawaguchi (Reginleif in Record of Ragnarok).

Based on the 2019 manga by Kenichi Kondo, Dark Gathering is being directed by Hiroshi Ikehata (TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You) at studio OLM (Summer Time Rendering, ODDTAXI), with series composition by Shigeru Murakoshi (ZOMBIE LAND SAGA) and character designs by Shinya Segawa (Pastel Memories), alongside these staff members:

Keitaro is ready to stop living as a shut-in. He’s starting university. He’s reconnecting with his childhood friend. He’s taking a tutoring job. And he’s not messing around with ghosts anymore. At least that’s what he thinks, until he finds out the elementary schooler he’s tutoring is an occult-obsessed genius who’s hunting down dangerous spirits and won’t stop until she’s found the one that took her mom!

The anime adaptation is scheduled to begin airing sometime in Summer 2023.
