Today we look back to times long past: The RTLZwei anime program from 20 years ago!

In the early 2000s, RTLZwei was the ultimate anime broadcaster in Germany. With program blocks in the early morning, in the afternoon and in the evening before, all anime fans got their money’s worth. The mix of series was particularly high in 2002. Today we look back at how RTLZwei set up its anime schedule on May 17, 2002. It all started early in the morning with a small dose of anime at 6:40 a.m. with the cult series “Chibi Maruko Chan”, followed by “Pokémon”.

The animes in the afternoon each started at around 11:35 a.m. with “Shin Chan”, followed by the now almost forgotten anime series “Taro Alien”. From 1:50 p.m. came the slightly more feminine line-up with “Doremi” and “Jeanne, the Kamikaze Thief”, before it started at 2:45 p.m. with “Ranma 1/2”, “Dragon Ball”, “ Pokémon», «Digimon» and as a conclusion at 4:40 p.m. «Detective Conan» continued.

After a short break, from 6:30 p.m. there were still the “animes for adults”: 6:30 p.m. “Shin Chan” and from 7:00 p.m. “Dragon Ball Z” in a double pack.
