Crunchyroll describes the story of Aharen-san wa Hakarenai as follows:

Aharen Reina-san, a small, quiet girl, is not very good at judging how close she should be to others. Raido-kun sits next to her in class, but it always felt like Aharen-san was far away. One day, Raido-kun picks up an eraser Aharen-san dropped, and because of that, the two of them suddenly get super close?! Aharen-san is unpredictable–always too far or too close. Their whole relationship is “inestimable” in more than one way. A romantic comedy about young love is about to begin!!
