#Carlos Alcaraz Sets Netflix Docuseries, Promises “Everything You Don’t See on a Tennis Court”

He won the inaugural Netflix Slam and now he’s getting the streamer’s documentary treatment.

Netflix is doubling down on 20-year-old tennis superstar Carlos Alcaraz, announcing a new docuseries, Alcaraz, that will focus a lens on the Spanish tennis player who is a certified phenomenon after winning two Grand Slams and becoming the youngest No. 1 in the history of the sport.

Alcaraz, which started filming during The Netflix Slam in Las Vegas earlier this month, will follow the tennis prodigy on and off the court during his 2024 season and promises to “get closer than ever before to one of the best athletes in the world,” per Netflix. It hails from well-known Morena Films, the production company founded in 1999 that is also in business with Netflix on La Liga about Spanish soccer teams, and previous titles like Diablero and Two Catalonias.

“I am very happy for this experience with Morena Films and Netflix. People are going to get to watch everything you don’t see on a tennis court. I think it’s something very different. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I will,” Alcaraz said in a statement.

The docuseries follows Netflix’s other sports world offerings like Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Full Swing, NASCAR: Full Speed, Quarterback, Tour de France: Unchained, Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team, Six Nations: Full Contact and more. Netflix has partnered with sports leagues such as Formula 1, the NFL, PGA Tour, Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Major League Baseball (MLB) and more.

As for Alcaraz, after breaking out as one of the biggest stars on the tennis court, he’s partnered with brands like Nike, Rolex, Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton, skincare brand Isdin and luxury automaker BMW, among others. He’s currently in competition at the BNP Paribas Indian Wells Open near Palm Springs, and is scheduled to face off later Thursday against Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals.
