It has been confirmed that 54-year-old Wataru Takagi voices the main villain Egoego in the upcoming film Eiga Healin’ Good PreCure Yume no Machi de Kyun! tto GoGo! Daihenshin!! (Healin’ Good Pretty Cure The Movie: GoGo! Big Transformation! at The Town of Dreams).

Takagi, best known as Garrod Ran in After War Gundam X (1996) and Okuyasu Nijimura in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable (2016), previously played Bunbee, one of the main villains in the fourth PreCure TV series Yes! PreCure5 (2007-2008) and its direct sequel Yes! PreCure5 GoGo! (2008-2009). The character still has deep-rooted popularity among fans, even ranking ninth in the character category of NHK’s “All PreCure Mega Poll” conducted in 2019.

In the story of the upcoming film, the PreCure girls confronts Egoego, a mysterious enemy who is trying to get Kaguya, the “YumeR Princess” with mysterious powers. As reported, the film features a joint battle between the members of the 17th series Healin’ Good Pretty Cure and Yes! PreCure 5GoGo!, so Takagi and all six voice actresses of the 5GoGo! team will have a dream collaboration after 13 years.

Also, the film’s official Twitter teases a possible appearance of Bunbee.

Along with a short film Eiga Tropical Rouge Pretty Cure: Tobikome! Collab Dance Party!, the 29th PreCure film Eiga Healin’ Good PreCure Yume no Machi de Kyun! tto GoGo! Daihenshin!! will open in Japan on March 20, 2021.
