#Blake Lively Apologizes for ‘Photoshop Fails’ Post After Kate Middleton’s Cancer News

Blake Lively is apologizing for her recent remarks she seemingly made about Kate Middleton.

Last week, the Gossip Girl alum shared a photo promoting Betty Buzz, her sparkling mixer company, by appearing to poke fun at the controversy around Kate Middleton’s Mother’s Day photo, which the royal said she edited.

On Friday, Kate announced she has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy treatment. As a result, the royal family and several public figures have publicly responded to the news. Lively has seemingly responded as well.

The 36-year-old actress wrote an apologetic note on her Instagram Stories on Friday.

“I’m sure no one cares today but I feel like I have to acknowledge this,” she began. “I made a silly post around the ‘photoshop fails’ frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today. I’m sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always.❤️.”

The actress did not specifically identify or name Kate in her post.

In Lively’s original post, she shared a photograph with exaggerated Photoshop efforts, including a comically large lemon falling from the sky above her.

The Princess of Wales shared the news of her cancer diagnosis Friday in a personal video message released by Kensington Palace.

The health announcement follows Kate’s “planned abdominal surgery” in January. Princess Kate shared on Friday that at the time of her surgery, it was understood that the issue was non-cancerous. However, she received the news that her post-operative tests “found cancer.”

It was not revealed the type of cancer Princess Kate has. And a Kensington Palace spokesperson said, “We will not be sharing any further private medical information. The Princess has a right to medical privacy, as we all do.”

In her emotional video, Princess Kate thanked well-wishers for their “wonderful messages of support” amid her recovery, which she called “an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family.”

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,” she said. “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

Kate concluded the announcement by asking for privacy and the public’s patience as she continues her treatment and navigates her recovery.

“We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery,” Kate shared.
