#Biden nabs all five votes in first Election Day tally in Dixville Notch

Joe Biden nabbed the first tiny victory of Election Day — winning all 5 votes in a small New Hampshire town that holds a tradition of counting their votes at midnight.

The final vote tally at Dixville Notch, New Hampshire — which is among three towns that tally their election results after midnight — was drawn on a poster board moments after the clock struck 12 a.m.

In the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton won the Dixville Notch vote. Then, the town, which is close to the Canadian border, had a total of 8 voters.

Two other areas in the state, Hart’s Location and Millsfield, have also historically offered midnight voting.

In Millsfield, which is 12 miles south of Dixville Notch, Trump prevailed early Tuesday, with 16 votes to Biden’s five.

This year marked Millsfield’s 60th anniversary of the midnight voting tradition. The occurrence usually attracts a large media presence with ample food, but the event was scaled back this year over coronavirus concerns.

Meanwhile, in Hart’s Location, midnight voting was altogether nixed due the pandemic. Instead, voters there can cast their ballots from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
