#Beating Mr. Beast’s $100,000 Riddle: Steps 1 – 23

Yes, Mr. Beast jumped on Twitter a few days ago and announced he was having a new challenge: Complete a 26 step riddle first to win $100,000. Did I win?

On July 29th at 9:16PM, Jimmy (AKA Mr. Beast) tweeted, “For the last 100 days we’ve been making the hardest riddle the internet has ever seen and if you’re the first to solve it, you win $100,000 BUT I doubt anyone will. You’d have to be the smartest man in the world.. I’ll tweet the riddle tomorrow night.”

This tweet set Mr. Beasts community aflame and speculation started buzzing around what the riddle would be.

• Would it contain clues from previous videos?
• Had they been planting little hints during the last 6 months?
• Did you really have to be the smartest man in the world to solve the riddle?

Many fans started planning and building discord groups of dedicated individuals who were willing to take the challenge head on. Mr. Beast kept teasing his audience with replies to his first tweet: “Clear your weekend, it won’t be easy..”

Tweeting just the number “5”:

Then, announcing that the number he tweeted was just to throw you off… or was it? Stating, “When I drop the riddle tomorrow you’ll be mind blown (;”

Mr. Beasts fan base couldn’t get enough, and everyone was one edge. His subscribers were scouring his tweets, his Instagram, his friend’s social profiles, and starting to make guesses on what was about to happen.

Finally, right before the riddle was about to go live. He tweeted out: “Riddle goes live in 45 minutes!”

The engines started revving and fans jumped in their Discord groups to prepare for the challenge. Sadly, I was out grocery shopping for my family when the riddle began, so I was watching livestreamers complete the riddle before my very eyes. By the time I got back to my computer, there were already streamers on step 13 of the 26 steps.

However, I wasn’t going to let that stop me. I took to Twitter, Reddit, Discord, & Instagram to start solving the riddle on my own, and became one of the many top contenders for the $100,000 prize. Luckily, a Reddit post was able to speed up my process, while many others quit during the QR phase of the riddle.

One streamer accidentally leaked the email he used to play the game and people started spamming racist slurs in his phone emulator, which lead to him shutting down the stream to avoid any repercussions from Youtube. A handful of people tried to do the same thing to me by spamming racist direct messages to my Twitter DMs.

The QR step forced you to scan up to hundreds of QR codes before you got access to a successful page. All the other ones led to a “wrong way” error. The code I used to pass this step is below:

Then, it was smooth sailing all the way until I got to Flappy Carl (aka Flappy Bird). It was clearly impossible for me to pass the 100 point barrier, and you’d understand how bad I am at games like this if you watched my QWOP livestream.

While I was busy looking for an alternative solution to Flappy Carl, many other streamers blazed ahead toward the final steps of the riddle. My chat was screaming the answer at me, while many people only had toxic things to say and other bad “hints” to try to throw me off the answer.

Eventually, I met my demise as Jimmy tweeted out a winner had been found: “The riddle has been solved! We are verifying the results and I’ll announce the winner as soon as possible! I’ll leave the riddle up in case any of you want to solve it for fun.”

Shortly after tweeting this, the servers went down because of how many people were trying to make their way through the Mr. Riddle webpages, and I had no choice but to call it a night.
