#“Avatar – The Lord of the Elements”: Original German voices in the Netflix trailer

The first official trailer for “Avatar – The Lord of the Elements” from Netflix promises nostalgia, especially in German!

Six years after the first announcement, the live-action series adaptation of “Avatar – The Lord of the Elements” at Netflix available. At the February 22, 2024 is the start date of the 8-part season planned for book 1 (water). As a foretaste, Netflix has released the first photos of the characters and also a teaser trailer over the last few months.

German voices amaze original fans

Now there is one official first trailer with video footage directly from the series. In this trailer you can finally hear it German voices of the main characters Aang, Sokka, Katara and Zuko. Fans of the original series can be happy because most of the voices are recognizable. Because here too, similar to the “One Piece” Netflix series German cast from the animated series refilled, provided the speakers are available and still fit.

David Turba and Julia Kaufmann can be heard representing the siblings Sokka and Katara. While Turba Sokka voiced the role in all episodes of the original series, Kaufmann was unable to appear in Book 3 and had to be replaced. Sebastian Schulz, who voiced the role throughout the animated series, can be heard again as the Prince of the Fire Nation. However, Team Avatar had to recast Aang because the original voice actor, Johannes Walenta, no longer sounds as young as he did back then. Tom Kanty can be heard as the voice of Aang in the Netflix trailer, who was cast according to age in the Berlin dubbing studio EVA Studios.

More “Avatar” in the pipeline

Fans of the animated series are excited to see and hear what the new interpretation on Netflix will be like. The creators of the original series were still involved in the production until 2020, but left due to “creative differences” and set up their own production studio, Avatar Studios, at Nickelodeon. Avatar Studios is not only planning 3 animated feature films, but also new animated series based on “Avatar – The Lord of the Elements” and “The Legend of Korra”.

Plot of the live series:

Water, earth, fire, air – long ago the four nations lived together in harmony. As lord of the elements, the Avatar maintained peace between them. But with their attack on the Air Nomads, the Fire Nation took the first step toward seizing control of the world. Without a new reincarnation of the Avatar, the world has given up hope. When the young Air Nomad Aang (Gordon Cormier) – the last of his kind – awakens to fulfill his destiny as the Avatar, the tide turns. Alongside Southern Water Tribe siblings Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Katara (Kiawentiio), Aang embarks on an action-packed, fantastical journey to defend himself against the infamous Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim) and the world to rescue. However, Crown Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu), who has his sights on the trio, doesn’t make things easy for them. They have to rely on the help of the many interesting characters they meet along the way.
