#Automata Ver 1.1a Cour 2 Visual Gathers Its Main Cast

A key visual for NieR: Automata Ver 1.1a‘s upcoming second cour has been released.

The new visual is essentially an amalgamation of the previous Cour 2 visuals, with the bodies of 2B, 9S, and A2 all laid at the feet of a projection of a girl in a red dress. However, all three androids’ eyes are open in this illustration.

NieR: Automata Ver 1.1a’s second cour will premiere sometime in July 2024. The first cour began in airing January 2023 but concluded after the Winter 2023 anime season, with Episodes 9 to 12 being released together on July 23, 2023, after experiencing various delays. Crunchyroll and Bilibili streamed the show overseas.

The anime is inspired by the 2017 open world action-RPG NieR: Automata, a loose sequel to 2010’s Nier, where androids and alien-manufactured machines fight over a desolate Earth in the distant future. The PlatinumGames-developed video game has inspired other media like stage plays, novels, and manga. Lily, a character from the YoRHa prequel stage play and its manga adaptation, is given a role in the anime.
