#Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 Receives Teaser Trailer

A teaser trailer for Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 has been released. The anime is set to premiere in Spring 2022.

The returning staff includes Mitsuru Hongō as director, Mariko Kunisawa as series composer and scriptwriter, Emiko Endō as chief animation director, Ryōka Kinoshita as art director, Miyoko Ichinose as color designer, Naoki Kitamura as photography director, MICHIRU as music composer, and Yoshiaki Yanagida and Toshihisa Kaiya as character designers. Ajia-do is producing the show.

New staff members include Haruka Matsunae (Banana Fish) as a third character designer and Noriko Otake (Haikara–San: Here Comes Miss Modern: Part 2) as a new chief animation director.

All main cast members from the previous seasons are returning. Kazuhiko Inoue is joining the cast as Sylvester.

Ascendance of a Bookworm is based on the light novel series written by Miya Kazuki and illustrated by Yū Shīna. The books began in 2015 and have 27 main volumes as of August 2021. The story began as a web novel published on Shōsetsuka ni Narō and has inspired a multi-part manga adaptation.

Avid bookworm and college student Motosu Urano ends up dying in an unforeseen accident. This came right after the news that she would finally be able to work as a librarian like she had always dreamed of. When she regained consciousness, she was reborn as Main, the daughter of a poor soldier. She was in the town of Ehrenfest, which had a harsh class system. But as long as she had books, she didn’t really need anything else. However, books were scarce and belonged only to the nobles. But that doesn’t stop her, so she makes a decision… “If there aren’t any books, I’ll just create some.”
