#Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 Gets New Staff, Visual, Premieres Spring 2022

The official website for the anime adaptation of Miya Kazuki’s Ascendance of a Bookworm (Honzuki no Gekokujō – Shisho ni Naru Tame niwa Shudan o Erandeiramasen) light novels revealed a new visual and the third season’s Spring 2022 premiere date. The website also revealed new staff members for the anime.

Newly announced staff members include Haruka Matsunae (Banana Fish) as a third character designer and Noriko Otake (Kingdom) as a new chief animation director.

All main cast members will return from previous seasons.

The anime’s first part premiered in October 2019, and the second part premiered in April 2020. The second season premiered in October 2020.

Crunchyroll streamed the previous two seasons of the anime as they aired and describes the series as:

Avid bookworm and college student Motosu Urano ends up dying in an unforeseen accident. This came right after the news that she would finally be able to work as a librarian like she had always dreamed of. When she regained consciousness, she was reborn as Main, the daughter of a poor soldier. She was in the town of Ehrenfest, which had a harsh class system. But as long as she had books, she didn’t really need anything else. However, books were scarce and belonged only to the nobles. But that doesn’t stop her, so she makes a decision… “If there aren’t any books, I’ll just create some.”
