The world’s first private icebreaker ship which is able to reach the most remote destinations on earth is available to charter for a staggering $840,000 a week.

While David Geffen lolled aimlessly around his yacht in the Grenadines during lockdown, more active billionaires can now rent a luxury adventure craft for a whopping $850,000 a week.
Russian oligarch Oleg Tinkov is currently leasing his 253-foot vessel, La Datcha, the world’s first private ice-breaking ship that can comfortably sail to Antarctica or the outer reaches of Greenland with 12 passengers in tow.
The ship, which can go for 40 days at a time without refueling, offers opportunities to “ram into the pack ice and walk right out onto the frozen sea,” according to the Daily Mail.
But just because passengers can “rough it” on the ice doesn’t mean there isn’t luxury on board.
There are five guest cabins — each featuring a dressing room, lavatory and either a shower or bathtub – and accommodations for 25 crew members, a private hospital, and two gyms (one for you and one for the staff) .
For the wannabe polar explorers, there is also a Turkish bath and sauna to relax in after an ice trek, a jacuzzi, and many toys, including two snow-scooters, four jet-skis, a diving center with its own decompression chamber and two helicopters in a below-deck hangar. Also on board is a Triton 1650/3 LP submersible — a smaller and lighter version of the mini-submarine used for filming the “Blue Planet II” series, which holds three people and can descend to 500 meters for up to 12 hours.
Tinkov, who describes himself as an “adventurer” who has no time for the traditional pursuits of “rich and fat people,” told the Daily Mail: “For me, it’s boring to buy another white boat, to sit on the sundeck and drink champagne. There is so much more to the world than the Med or the British Virgin Islands. This is just five per cent of the world’s coastline and . . . I’m eager to explore the rest.”
La Datcha is available for hire in Antarctica during December 2021 and January 2022.
