Apple has just announced the biggest upgrade for its littlest iPad, the iPad Mini. Additionally, the company has unleashed an improved version of its most popular entry-level iPad, now with even more storage.

Both iPad’s come with a slew of upgrades, improved cameras, and affordable prices. Here’s what you need to know.

New iPad Mini

Up first, the new iPad Mini has a bigger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display in the same physical size as the original, thanks to smaller bezels around the display. As a comparison, the original features a 7.9-inch display and has remained largely unchanged since it first debuted in 2012. Now, users can enjoy a bigger and better experience while still benefiting from the portability that comes with the Mini.

Better yet, the new iPad Mini comes with USB-C instead of a lightning port, not to mention an upgraded camera on the front and the back. We also really like that Apple’s offering several new color options similar to the iPad Pro line.

Apple added a vastly improved 12MP ultrawide camera in the bezel above the screen on the new Mini. This enables the small tablet to support Apple’s Center Stage feature, where the camera can track users and help get the perfect shot. This is in thanks to being powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic chip. Additionally, the new iPad Mini supports 5G with download speeds up to 3.5 gigabits per second, the 2nd-Gen iPad pencil, and runs the latest iPad OS full of useful features.

You can order Apple’s latest iPad Mini starting today, with shipments going out on September 24th. The iPad Mini now starts at $499 with 64GB for Wi-Fi and $649 with 5G.

9th Generation iPad

Then, during Apple’s September 14th event, it unveiled a new and improved regular iPad. This is still its most popular iPad and is technically the 9th generation. You’ll get the same 10.2-inch HD display, a familiar design that works with all existing cases and accessories, and double storage at the same price as previous generations.

Apple’s 9th Gen iPad comes with an Apple A13 Bionic processor, a TruTone display, support for the 1st gen Apple Pencil, and improved front and back cameras. TruTone is a welcomed addition to this entry-level device, a feature that automatically adjusts the screen’s color temperature to ambient lighting.

Like the iPad Mini, this new iPad has an upgraded 12 Megapixel front camera that supports Center Stage, a feature that debuted last year on the iPad Pro. However, Apple didn’t change this model to USB-C like its smaller sibling, which means users existing cables and accessories will still work with the lightning port.

The rest of the 9th Gen iPad will look very familiar to anyone that’s seen or used an iPad the last several years. By that, we mean it has the same big bezels, home button, and one rear camera.

Best of all, Apple has doubled the base storage to 64GB without raising the price, meaning it starts at $329.  The iPad is also compatible with the first-generation Apple Pencil and the Apple Smart Keyboard. The new iPad is available starting today, September 14th, with shipping starting late next week. Click here to get your own.
