“Animation Studio Orange Releases “Home!” Short Animation”

Animation studio Orange has released an original short animation titled Home! as part of its New Project Countdown. The studio’s Twitter account said that it will talk about how its experience on Home! “has become essential to our new project” on June 15. 

Home! is the directorial debut of Akihiko Orikasa, whose previous roles including serving as one of the CG chiefs on Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie and as CG sub-director on several episodes of Land of the Lustrous. Other staff include Kenji Saido as scriptwriter, Hiromi Miyazaki as character designer, Hisako Akagi (Land of the Lustrous Episodes 1,2, 4, 5,7, 8, and 9) as art director, Ken Hashimoto (Beastars) as color designer, Tomonari Nakajima (Obsolete CG director) as composite director, and Yosuke Hishino as music composer.

Orange describes the short as:

Year 2124. Christopher is on Mars research expedition and finds a missing commercial vessel from Earth. 3 years since it’s disappearance, hope is slim but Christopher searches for any survivors. In the ship, In the ship, Christop[her encounters a girl named Cyane…

Orange is set to announce a new project later this week.
