#Ani-One Adds Otherside Picnic to Winter 2021 Anime Catalog

Ani-One Asia announced that it will stream Otherside Picnic as part of its Winter 2021 catalog. The sci-fi yuri anime is scheduled to air on January 4, 2021 at 11:30 PM (GMT+8), with new episodes every Monday. 

Countries that can stream the anime are Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Otherside Picnic will also be available on BiliBili for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Brunei, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. Taiwan can access the anime via IQIYI, myVideo, KKTV, Bahamut, friDay video, line TV, and Chunghwa Telecom (MOD + Hami Video) as well.

Otherside Picnic is based on a manga written by Iori Miyazawa and illustrated by shirakaba. LIDEN FILMS and Felix Film are handling the animation production. The staff includes Takuya Satou (Fragtime, Kase-san and Morning Glories) as director and series composer, Ayumi Nishihata (Kuromukuro) as character designer and chief animation director, and Ema Kazutaka (prop designer on Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle) as creature designer. 

Other staff include Hiroki Atsumoto (The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me?) as art director, You Iwaida (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Season 3) as color designer, Takeshi Kuchiba (Fragtime) as photography director, Yuuya Shiraishi as 3D director, and Takeshi Watanabe (Girls Beyond the Wasteland) as music composer. Miki Sato is performing the show’s ending song. 

Otherside Picnic‘s cast includes Yumiri Hanamori (Akudama Drive) as Sorao Kamikoshi, Ai Kayano (Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld) as Toriko Nishina, Rina Hidaka (The Ryuo’s Work is Never Done!) as Kozakura, and Miyu Tomita (Talentless Nana) as Akari Seto. 

J Novel Club describes the manga’s synopsis as:

Her first encounter with Toriko Nishina was on the Otherside after seeing “that thing” and nearly dying. Ever since that day, exhausted university student Sorawo Kamikoshi’s life changed. In this Otherworld, full of mystery, which exists alongside our own, dangerous beings like the Kunekune and Hasshaku-sama that are spoken of in real ghost stories appear. For research, for profit, and to find an important person, Toriko and Sorawo set foot into the abnormal. A tale of two girls’ bizarre exploration and survival, brought to you by an up-and-coming Sci-fi author!

Two commercials featuring the anime’s opening song “Minikui Ikimono” by ChiCO with HoneyWorks were released on December 29.
