#Angels vs. Dodgers prediction: Take the underdog

The 2020 season got off to a disappointing start for the Los Angeles Angels, and even though it is too little to late for a postseason push, they have the chance to get a win over their SoCal rival the Dodgers on Saturday.

Dylan Bundy has posted career bests with 9.9 strikeouts and 0.7 home runs per nine innings while giving up three earned runs or fewer in five of his past six starts.

He will go against Tony Gonsolin, who aside from a random long relief appearance against the Arizona Diamondbacks has been as close to lights-out as it gets. In his seven starts, Gonsolin has posted a 1.26 ERA and has given up just one home run and six walks in 35²/₃ innings.

The Angels came into this final series having scored at least four runs in 12 of their past 13 games (winning nine) and face a Dodgers team whose bullpen ERA for the season is No. 2 MLB at 2.83, but has faltered recently with a 3.90 the past 30 days.

With Bundy’s West Coast resurgence and the Angels’ offense coming alive, they should have more motivation than the Dodgers, who have little to play for after clinching the top seed in the NL.

The play: Angels, +170.
