#Amazon Previews New Evangelion Anime Film Dubs in Multilingual Trailer

Ahead of the release of all the Rebuild of Evangelion films on Amazon Prime Video tomorrow, including the newest and “final” film Evangelion 3.0+1.01: Thrice Upon a Time, the streaming service released a multilingual trailer previewing the new dubs made for the service. Warning, the trailer contains spoilers for the final film.

The languages heard in the trailer include Japanese, French, German, Chinese, Castilian Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Hindi, Korean, Latin American Spanish, Italian, and finally English in the Evangelion 3.0+1.01 previewing Spike Spencer back as Shinji saying “Goodbye, all Evangelions.”

Evangelion 3.0+1.0 finally opened in Japan after being delayed twice due to the coronavirus pandemic on March 8, breaking franchise records on the first day and eventually becoming the highest-grossing film in the franchise in Japan in less than a month, then the highest-grossing worldwide in 35 days, and finally the 9th highest-grossing anime film in Japan of all-time. It is the longest film in the franchise (not including compilations or special screenings). The film finished in Japan on July 21, grossing 10.22 billion yen ($91.84 million) at the Japanese box office to be the 35th highest-grossing film in the region.

An updated version of the film, Evangelion 3.0+1.01, was released in Japanese theaters on June 12. Evangelion 3.0+1.01: Thrice Upon a Time will stream on Amazon Prime Video in 240 countries, including Japan, with English subtitles and dubbed from August 13.
