The 15-year-old reputed Crip, whose name is being withheld, allegedly opened fire at members of the rival Folk Nation crew from a stolen car at Crown Street and Nostrand Avenue in Crown Heights around 3 a.m. Monday.
The bullets flew amid J’Ouvert — the historically troubled run-up to the annual West Indian Day Parade, which was canceled this year amid the coronavirus pandemic — striking five people, among them young Maxwell Cesc-Dinho, 6, and his mother, authorities have said.
One slug ripped through both of Maxwell’s legs, shattering one femur.
The 15-year-old accused shooter and a 21-year-old man were taken into custody a short time later for packing heat, but weren’t immediately charged in the shooting itself.
The alleged teen triggerman is also being eyed in other instances of gunplay that took place earlier in the night in Brooklyn, sources said, though no injuries were reported in those incidents.
Investigators believe the spate of shootings was part of a running gangland feud, sources said.
The shooting was just one of 22 across the city Friday through Monday that left a cumulative 28 people killed or wounded — a run which Mayor Bill de Blasio characterized Tuesday as a “peaceful weekend.”
